Chicken Dutch Oven

I love going camping and eating our chicken dutch oven. I thought the other
day how it sounded so good for dinner and its a way to eat some of the chicken
we bought awhile ago. So last night I put 5 pieces of chicken out to thaw.
I start by putting a half of can of Cream of Mushroom soup on the bottom. I like
to brown my chicken before I put it in the crock pot, I know some people just
add it but I like how it gives it a caramelized taste on it. While the chicken is
browning, (just pepper to season it)
I cut up carrots and potatoes in bite size pieces. (carrots and potatoes
vary in how much to cut up, when making more servings I usually add one pkg
of peeled carrots...I know I am lazy....and 3 cups of potatoes)
You can add some button mushrooms which I don't have today, onions if
desired also.

When the chicken if cooked enough, I layered the pieces of
chicken on the bottom. Then I add 1 can of Cream of Chicken
on top of it.

Then add 1/2 of vegetables on top of soup, then top
with Cream of Mushroom. Then I repeat with more
vegetables, then the soup again to top it off.

I usually cook it for 5-6 hrs on high, then turn down
till dinner time.
I can't wait for dinner tonight...just wish I had some mushrooms in it but oh well....

Bargains of the Week

So this week I went to Walmart and collected a few bargains that
I have found on a few bargain bloggers.
They first told about a $3.00 Gain coupon out of Red Plum circular
(has Subway on the front of it)
if you go to Walmart and get the Gain 40 ct fabric softner sheets for
$1.87 it is a money maker on each box (I made approximately $10.00).
The Yakisoba I had a coupon for fifty cents and it was 48 cents, so I made another 2 cents on each one.
The lens cleaner and cloth was a freebie from Walmart vision, found a link for a free cleaner and cloth and printed it out and took it in.

So then I had Buy One Get One Free coupon for Sunbelt fruit bars
(another find and you could print out as many as you wanted)
The SeaPak popcorn Shrimp at walmart is $1.58 and had a dollar coupon, so
it made them .58 cents each.
The candy bars were BOGO free also.
The Yogurt I had a coupon 6/40 cents.
Gain I used a $3.00 coupon on it.
So with the money I made on the first part I got all this FREE.
(It helped getting free items from BOGO free)
So I bought more Sunbelt Fruit bars, lunch meat,
Green ice tea, cresent rolls (all used coupons)

So for all above items I spent $17.32
The orginal amount started at $74.02

I have just started finding out how to get most for our money,
I would use a few coupons here and there but as much as groceries are getting
I am thankful for my new blogger friends that has helped me tremdously.
It actually has become a new hobby or job for me. It give me great satisfaction
to see what I can get for the most of our money.
If you are interested let me know and I'll give you some hints and show
you some blogs to visit. Why not??

What Shall I do???

So tomorrow is the first time in several weeks that I won't be babysitting Landon. Jon has been in training for a few months now and has been on straight days. Kimberly has Wednesday's off but she has been working a few of them also.

So I wake up early every morning and is greeted with Landon's bubbly smile and as Kimberly comes through the door, up the stairs she puts Landon down and his feet hit the floor...his off to do his morning routine...1st he goes over and picks up Kylie's dog food dish and hands it to me (or he'd play in the food and water), then the water dish....then he runs to the patio door where I take them out and set them outside so she can eat and drink during the day. Then he runs across the kitchen and waits for the pantry door to open and insists on getting a doggie treat which I enturn hands to him then he runs back to the patio door...waits for me to open it which I do...then he tosses the treat out on the deck which she then goes and eats it. By then Kimberly is ready to leave which he then goes to the top of the stairs and gives her a kiss and then proceeds with waving his hand up and down saying "BYE" then..."SEE YOU LATER".....then...LOV YOU!!....Every morning he says that as she gets ready to go out the door. 2nd: he then runs to the pantry I open it and he then stretches his arms up and I grab the cereal and then we run to the table where he sits in his chair and has cereal (sugar pops or cinnamon toast) with milk. He eats it pretty good with a spoon but then we he is almost done he starts sharing with Kylie the cereal sopped in milk which he tosses on the floor which she eats (I am still trying to train him into not sharing with the dog but I am trying to reason with a 2 yr old...don't think its goin happen). I put him down and start cleaning up and while I am doing that he goes around the house and finds what ever to get into to. 3rd: He opens the coat closet and starts wining for me to come over which he wants me to drag out the vacuum and wants me to vacuum the floor. (This is his ritual as much as the doggie dishes) So I start vacuuming which the floors usually are need of it. Sometimes if I am tired I'll just vacuum the hallway. He'll go get his play vacuum and he'll be right beside me helping me vacuum all the little dust bunnies up.

We'll do various things after that until he gets tired and has a morning nap around 9 or 9:30 am.

So tomorrow Jon is on his 4 days off, so I won't be getting up early (yeah right!! I usually is on this schedule so I usually wake up on my own anyway) and seeing my grandson's bright smiley face and him keeping me busy getting my daily chores done on time.

So What Shall I do tomorrow with my time??????
